CORRUPTION DOCUMENTATION

Corruption Documentation

Starting as early as 2010, there have been a number of instances of unsolved missing persons cases all over the world with a single common feature that links them all: Strange "corruption" appearing in Minecraft worlds. I understand this idea is both outlandish and foolish, but each case documented has series of common patterns...

First, the person is missing without a trace - no evidence of a struggle, no belongings taken with them. Secondly, their computers either have completely or partially corrupt files - in some cases, attempts were sucessfully made to restore them. Third, the last thing they played was Minecraft.

If a few of those people happened to be recording their gameplay or even took screenshots, we are able to get a glimpse into their 'final' moments.

The footage itself has a common pattern too. It all has mysterious 'blocks'... These are typically jet black with a white trim on the outside. In many cases, the footage ends when the player touches these blocks.

I speculate these blocks to be a form of corruption in the game. I do not fully understand how it relates to the missing person cases, nor do I have causal evidence to prove it, but I believe there is some sort of relation that we do not fully understand yet.

Due to the radical nature of this idea, law enforcement agencies around the world don't even log the evidence.

So, this site will serve to be the voices of the families who are victims of this pattern.

This site is a combination of my personal sleuthing and user submissions. If you have evidence to submit, please use the submission box below to contact me.

Thank you.

1) Confirm it is in fact corruption - If it matches any of the evidence below, proceed with the following

2) Do not touch it, click on it, or even look at it too long - I don't know how it works, but you must be safe.

3) Unplug your PC - Do not power it down, do not even hard power it down. Unplug it and turn off the power supply

I am yet to get the webpage fully up to date with all the evidence I have collected. Furthermore, I still need to finish building the site and working out the kinks. Please check back another day for more evidence and a hopefully fully working site.
Late 2010 Case
Video Taken: 2010-12-13 · Source: Anonymous
This is some of the best evidence we have to date, and also the final nudge I needed to fully commit to making this webpage. It's not often that we get footage. Furthermore this appears to be taken on a game version that simply does not exist, and is not modded as implied by the full video which I will not link for privacy reasons. I have upscaled the footage to allow for better visual clarity.
The Symbol
Image Made: 2026-02-26 · Source: Me
This symbol appears in multiple pieces of evidence in my files. It appears to be written out in different ways, and I am unsure of what it means, but I am absolutely positive it is related to the corruption. Perhaps a debug feature?.
New World
Image Made: 2024-03-19 · Source: Anonymous
Here we can see the corruption spreading within minutes of starting a new world. It is then perhaps not a stretch to say that it may be involved in the world generation? The takeaway is that the corruption seemingly doesn't begin at any particular time after starting a world. Furthermore, we can see that same symbol visible in a number of screenshots resembling a ".//".

Alpha Version Evidence 4

One of the biggest groups of people I have ever seen experience the corruption. The original screenshotter is missing but I am unsure of the other people.

Beta Version Evidence 3

Two players find corruption in what looks like the beginning of a new world. Fern visible in the background despite not being in this version. Perhaps related? *!* Not linked to evidence 2.
Beta Version Evidence 7

Version claims to be beta 1.7.3 despite the cobblestone texture being indicative of a pre 1.7.3 version... perhaps a purist?
